Last week, I had quite a shitty week. When it rains, it pours!
First of all, my loan money was not dispersed from the bank and I was encumbered. I contacted financial aid like 7 times via telephone and or email. They basically told me that they didn't know what was going on and that they were idiots. Turns out, it had something to do with my 0.0 grade point average for last semester. I got an instructor to sign a paper saying that I was enrolled for the full semester and went back to financial aid. This was apparently the only competent woman in the place because it took her about 2 minutes to reenter me in the system and she informed me that the loan would be processed and should come through in the next week.
On this same day, Monday, I got a call from Crapplebee's. Apparently, they no longer require my services. Something about me not showing up for a shift I was scheduled for. Now, I assure you this was a complete accident and I feel that I was terminated unjustly. Other people have gotten away with shit like that a ton of times and only gotten a suspension. So, I pulled an "Aaron" and got myself fired. Help me boycott these corporate assholes. Stupid Indiana law and "fire at will".

I was kinda bummed about getting fired so my boyfriend, Joe, invited me to come over to his place and stay the night so we could cuddle and he could give me a hug and assure me everything was going to be okay. I had a pinched nerve at the time that was sending shooting pains down both legs every time I moved so I couldn't quite get comfy on his futon. I told him I was going home because I was uncomfortable and wanted to take some Tylenol PM. He thought I was mad at him and that was why I was leaving. We'd just watched 'Army of Darkness', the funniest movie of all time, for God's sake!
So, I went outside and it was freezing...I scraped the ice off my car and started it. So far so good. Then, when I tried to drive, it was like I had one of those boots on my rear wheels. My Saturn was barely moving, and it got stuck halfway in the driveway and halfway in the street. I woke Joe back up to help me push it, but the damn thing wasn't going anywhere. So, I called AAA. They came at like 1:30 AM and towed the damn thing to a shop where I would call about getting it fixed the next day. I was stuck at Joe's for the night even though I couldn't sleep. I was not a happy camper. So, I call about getting my car fixed and they tell me it's going to be about $500.00. Not only is that a ton of money, but I was just fired from my job! I have them fix it...guess I'll put it on my credit card. What is more debt to a 22 year old? I have to walk all the way from Joe's to my house...5 miles...in the cold because he was at work while I went to class. Later, he tells me he left his place unlocked so that I could come back there after class if I needed to. It was thoughtful of him, but I wish I'd known that before I walked the 5 miles in 18 degree weather home. So, I am finally home, frozen, and I open my door. The cat has puked on the floor, and my Betta, Henry is dead. I said a few words and flushed the poor guy. I'd had him for 3.5 years. We'd bonded! I'll miss the guy.
All this in just two days, and I then failed my exam on Friday. Sigh...this is life...and sadly, I find it all kind of humorous. On the bright side, Joe supported me the whole way. He's a good boyfriend. Every girl should own one like this. And now, your moment of zen:
