The California Sun Cascading Down My Face.

I just came back to Chicago from California, and I've realized once I graduate (whenever the hell that is) I'm either going to move to Los Angeles or NYC -- I'm feeling the urge to live in a big city rich in culture, music, and the arts. As an artsy, indie-snob with a considerable fashion sense that borderlines homosexuality, I want to surround myself with the type of pretentious people who sit in coffee shops and hipster bars all day and night, listen to The Arcade Fire or Ryan Adams, and wear black-plastic glasses beneath dirty mops of hair... all the while arranging their IKEA minimalist furniture around their studio apartment in Williamsburg or Santa Monica. Call them, if you will, an excellent source of inspiration, vitamin C, and riboflavin.

Speaking of the arts, I'm adding a few interesting links for all you artists out there:

1) Flickr.com: an awesome way to archive/store/organize/present your photos. If you haven't noticed (because you are either blind or Caroline), I've placed a Flickr badge on the top of the posts. Here you'll see all the photos I've uploaded onto the web. Since I'll probably be uploading photos more than blogging, the Flickr badge is another reason to frequent this site more often.

B) DaFont: This one specifically goes out to Pat Doran of "The Way Life Should Be", who's been thinking about using computer fonts in his comic. DaFont has a huge assortment of free, downloadable fonts, making your typical graphic designer drool in delight.

III) The Human Clock: Sweet photoblog of, well, human clocks...

  • Pearl Paint: Discount art supplies, you fuckin' artfag. Go paint a happy tree.

-And last, but not least, Sausage-Fest.com: Sure, it's empty now, but at least I finally have a domain name for my collegiate comic strip! Once I talk to Tim/Glenn/my brother about flash components, and Dave Chen/Vroom about archiving shit, the site will be in full swing. Again, thanks so much to Ken for hosting.

Once I return to Champaign-Urbana (I plan leaving Chicago anytime from now to Sunday), I'll post my pics from Cali. And to my friends down there, give me a call; it's been awhile.
