I was at the grocery store today, and a mother was tending to her baby. I was thinking, what if I taught my child some cuss words as his or her first word...? After all, I plan to be one of those really liberal parents.
On the subject of infancy and language, I was also wondering whether or not white people in the South taught their children to say, "Damn culah'd bastards" when they first began to speak. Honestly, I would pay money to see a 2 or 3-year-old say that to some random minority -- just because youth and racism are funny.
