Before she dies, I might as well tell you I got a female hamster. I named her Viola Sakai (or Sakai for short) after the Shakespearean character. Her surname is after the Iron Chef -- you know, Hiroyuki Sakai, Iron Chef French.
To show you how adorable my pet is, let me regale you of this recent AIM conversation I had with my friend Sara:
Phil: gah, my hamster is so cute! she's trying to escape! Sara: you love your hamster! Phil: i loof it so mooch! Phil: she gets on top of her waterbottle and starts nipping at the edge. Phil: then i have to grab her and put her down. Sara: that sounds cute Phil: hamsters don't like sour things, so i swab lemon juice on the edge. Phil: and then she makes this cute sour face! Sara: are you serious? Phil: yes! Phil: they're not supposed to chew on the plastic; gives them indigestion. Sara: I would imagine Phil: and everytime i go near her aquarium, she reaches up towards me because she thinks i'll give her a sunflower seed. Phil: she luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuvs sunflower seeds! Sara: phil... I think you might need to get out more often Phil: oh oh! and when i wake her up from her sleep, she has this "whatchu want" sleepy-eyed face! Phil: it's adorable! Phil: she's so warm and fuzzy wuzzy! Phil: i know what love is now! Sara: I'm glad someone (or thing) was able to break through that wall of yours, phil. I'm glad you could feel love.
